Travel Support (as of 2016/1/22)


Recipients of any kind of travel support must attend conference activities for the entire duration of the meeting.

I. Travel support for YOUNG scientists, application DUE MARCH 18, 2016 (Taiwan time)

The support for young scientists is NTD30,000 or more per person. Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Age 35 or younger with a PhD degree.

  2. Applicants have to submit an abstract and complete the meeting registration before applying for this travel support.

Applicants should send an email with Abstract Tracking Number and a CV including all publications to Ms. Ya-Hong Lin at  yahong.lin@pssc.ncku.edu.tw.

II. Travel support for scientists from developing countries, application DUE MARCH 18, 2016 (Taiwan time)

The support for scientists from developing countries is NTD30,000 or more per person. Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Applicants must be from developing countries, as defined by the World Bank list of low income and lower middle income countries (http://data.worldbank.org/about/country-and-lending-groups#Low_income).

  2. Applicants have to submit an abstract before applying for this travel support.

Applicants should send an email with Abstract Tracking Number, a copy of the photo page of the passport and a CV including all publications to Ms. Ya-Hong Lin at  yahong.lin@pssc.ncku.edu.tw.

Successful applicants will be notified by email, which sets a deadline for them to complete their registration with payment. Failure to meet the deadline will forfeit the travel support.

III. Travel support for STUDENTs, application DUE MARCH 18, 2016 (Taiwan time)

The support for students is NTD15,000 per person. Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Be registered at a university and full-time enrolled in a Master or PhD program at the time of application.

  2. As the first author of an oral/poster presentation of his/her own work.

  3. Applicants have to submit an abstract before applying for this travel support.

Applicants should submit the following materials to Ms. Ya-Hong Lin at  yahong.lin@pssc.ncku.edu.tw:

  1. Abstract Tracking Number.

  2. A statement from the university confirming the student status.

  3. Recommendation letter from the faculty supervisor or department/institute chair as to how the conference participation is directly relevant to the student's research or studies.

Successful applicants will be notified by email, which sets a deadline for them to complete their registration with payment. Failure to meet the deadline will forfeit the travel support.

Acceptance of the submitted abstract is necessary (but not sufficient) for the approval of any kind of travel support applications.
