本所研究領域涵蓋:


電漿物理 (Plasma Physics):

Plasma Physics is the foundation for space sciences, nuclear fusion research, and plasma technology. Apart from the applications, plasma physics is emerging as an independent discipline in physical science due to the rich nonlinearity of plasma media.

Ongoing research:

Basic wave experiment in magnetized plasmas;

Plasma chaos;

Soliton dynamics.

 

磁層物理、電離層物理、太陽物理及太空天氣(Magnetospheric Physics, Ionospheric Physics, Solar Physics, and Space Weather):

Instrument development for satellite and sounding rocket experiments;

Magnetic reconnection;

Charged particle acceleration mechanism;

Solar wind.

 

核融合 (Magnetically Confined Fusion):

Success of controlled fusion is strongly dependent on understanding macroscopic (magnetic reconnection, for example) and microscopic instabilities (plasma turbulence).

Ongoing research:

Turbulence experiment in magnetized plasmas;

Theoretical study on the suppression of turbulence by electric field;

Kinetic simulation of Alfven wave instabilities;

Members of our institute collaborate with US, EU, and Japanese fusion program.

 

電漿應用 (Engineering Application of Plasma Technology):

Medical application;

Plasma accelerator;

Plasma processing;

Hydrogen fueling.


脈衝電漿太空科學 (Pulsed-Power Generator for Space Science):

以脈衝功率系統為平台研究慣性控制核融合、同調X-ray光源及太空電漿物理。
